There are many water activities in this area, these are the activities outside of the swimming in the ocean that we have attempted and the companies we have used.

BEACH COMBING

Across Santa Rosa Boulevard from our house there is the beach. It is a short walk, but Santa Rosa Boulevard can be busy at different times of the day. There are many walkers, so drivers are aware, but be safe. There are seven Okaloosa Island Beach Access points

PARASAILING

We have parasailed using Destin Watersports, they are located at 210 Harbor Blvd Destin, Florida 32541.

MARINA NEEDS

CRAB ISLAND

Another fun opportunity is to rent a pontoon boat and drive out to Crab Island. Crab Island is a very large sandbar that is located by the bridge. It is important to park in the middle of the sandbar, not on the edge as it is dangerous as water can sweep you out into the deep part of the ocean quickly. It is also important to wear your life jackets. We rented a pontoon boat from True Blue Pontoons located at 1318 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Okaloosa ISland, Florida 32548 and drove out for the afternoon. They were very helpful as this was a new adventure for our family. It is good to bring a football or frisbee to throw around - also water and snacks. Please note that boats brought or rented cannot be parked in the boat slips at our home for any period of time. You will be responsible for any fines incurred during your stay and your boat will be towed. This is a rule from the state of Florida for owners to have the boat slips, so please be respectful of this rule.
